I pernah dipecat kerja due to some isu disiplin. But that was a year ago. I dah berubah. Now I want to start new. This year I dah start apply kerja although belum dapat offer. My question is, should I be honest and inform during IV that I kena pecat from company before OR should I just cakap I berhenti je? Macam mana kalau diorang buat background check?

Just be honest but keep it casual. You can mention you had some issues with discipline before, but talk about how you've learned and grown from that experience. If they ask about your past directly, just be truthful. Most companies do background checks anyway, so honesty is key. Just focus on showing them how you've improved and you'll do great!
-
You can mention that you were let go from your previous job due to disciplinary issues, but frame it in a way that shows accountability and maturity. For example, you might say something like, "I had some challenges in my previous role, but I've taken responsibility for my actions and have worked hard to improve myself since then.
-
You can acknowledge the termination briefly, emphasizing how you’ve learned from the experience and grown since then.
-
Highlight the positive changes you’ve made since the incident and what you’ve learned about discipline and professionalism.
-
If you decide to mention it, keep your explanation concise and focus on how you’re a better candidate now.
-
Shift the conversation to your skills and what you can bring to the new role, rather than dwelling on the past.
-
If you think they’ll find out, be ready with a clear, honest explanation that shows your growth.
-
Frame your past experience as a challenge that helped you develop resilience and improve your work ethic.
-
If you think it won't come up, you might choose not to mention it unless asked directly.
-
If you’re concerned about background checks, it might be better to address it upfront in a positive light.
