Congrats on the new role! All i can say is that this could still be a stepping stone to your career development even tho the raise isn’t what you expected. They know u’re capable of in the new role. If you feel the pay isn't right or match with the title. You can do your own ground research first. See if it's match or not. Another way around, you can expected to keep looking for new job for that new title.

That sounds great, but not every company does it. We have standard bonuses, but I think profit-sharing would be a good motivation for all employees. Like they getting the real sense of ownership & transparency.

Even though sr. roles are often filled through headhunting, I don’t think it’s completely unaffected by the current job market. With companies tightening budgets, there might be fewer openings at the top, making competition just as fierce. It’s not just the juniors who need to stay on top of their game.

Umm very hard to say leh, cause it depends. Sometimes it can be helpful but also i’m sceptical at the same time.

That’s tough! It’s something I have experienced before. It depends on how much savings you have. If you have time to hold out for a high paying job- Great! However sometimes you need to be practical and just take the next job that comes in hand. Best of luck in your search!

So both of you feel comfortable to do open sharing. Best to practice first so you can avoid being too nervous, so you know what to point out and highlight on your growth and performance you’ve showed over the years
